Diet is an important consideration for people with HIV infection as good nutrition can have a positive benefit in many ways. The dietician is able to give advice and support about a number of issues including: achieving a balanced diet, managing symptoms such as loss of appetite, diarrhea and weight loss, advice on cultural and ethnic foods, complementary dietary practices, use of vitamin and mineral supplements, nutrition and drug therapy and eating well on a limited budget.

The Food Chain provides nutrition services including home delivered meals, essential groceries and nutrition advice to men, women and children who are chronically sick as a result of HIV related illness. We aim to ensure that no one living with the virus has their ability to get well and stay well adversely affected by lack of access to appropriate food. All our services are provided with the help and support of nearly a thousand volunteers and funded via public donations.

healthjogger HEALTH ADVISERS AT THE COURTYARD
You may well have met a Health Adviser when discussing HIV testing and then again to receive your result. You can ask to see a Health Adviser at any time during clinic hours, or by appointment. Specific issues that you could discuss could include: adjusting to your diagnosis and any issues connected with it, sexual health, including safer sex, supporting you in telling a current or new partner about your HIV status, thinking about the impact of your diagnosis on others and the implications for partners and children and deciding whether or not to start treatment.

milestones MILESTONES PEER SUPPORT GROUP
Our support group meets on Monday evenings, 6-9pm. It is a wonderful opportunity for patients to meet and learn from others who are living with HIV. We provide counseling and guidance by signposting people to the services they need such as housing and other benefits. We provide a safe and secure place to come and discuss freely and openly any concerns or problems patients are experiencing living with HIV. Learning from your peers is the best way of learning to live with HIV.

nurse NURSING TEAM AT THE COURTYARD
The nursing team are responsible for co-ordinating your care within the clinic and offer the following services: blood tests, hepatitis vaccinations, sexual health screening, routine assessments (such as weight and blood pressure), organising emergency repeat prescriptions (with 48 hours notice), advice and support and access to information. Please telephone the nurses if you have queries relating to your care or treatment. They will also be able to give you advice if you are feeling unwell. Please note that the nurses do not work in the evenings or at weekends.

pharmacylogo PHARMACY AT THE COURTYARD
The pharmacist will provide practical information and advice about your medication including: how to take the medication, dealing with side effects, fitting your medication into your daily routine, ideas on how to remember to take your medication. Because it is very important that you are able to take your medication correctly, we strongly encourage you to see the pharmacist if you are: starting treatment for the first time, changing treatment for any reason and taking other drugs, including herbal remedies which may interfere with your treatment.

Opening times for the pharmacy department at the clinic are:
Monday and Tuesday: 9:30am - 1.30pm, 2.30pm - 5:30pm
Wednesday: 11:00am - 1:30pm
Thursday: 9:30am - 1.30pm, 2.30pm - 6:30pm
Friday: 9:30am - 1.30pm

SLHP SOUTH LONDON HIV PARTNERSHIP
With a wide range of treatment available and some of the best healthcare in the world, people with HIV can live a long, healthy life. But having HIV can make some things more complicated. swagnet SWAGNET
The South West London HIV & Sexual Health Clinical Services Network provides the structure for the collaboration and co-ordination between organisations and professional groups who deliver clinical services for HIV, GUM and Reproductive Sexual Health. The focus is on clinical governance, developing integrated care pathways and increased user choice, whilst ensuring that services are patient-focused, high quality, effective and equitable.
SWAGNET was established in 2002 as the first sexual health network in the country. It was originally a joint initiative of adult HIV and Genitourinary Medicine Services provided at Kingston Hospital, Mayday University Hospital, Queen Mary's Hospital, St George's Hospital & St Helier Hospital and the following PCTs: Kingston, Richmond & Twickenham, Croydon, Sutton & Merton and Wandsworth.
